The current VCORSA catalog identifies VT101 as a 305/35ZR20 tire and describes the listed product as all-season. Those are useful starting points. They do not, by themselves, establish compatibility with a particular widebody build, an approved wheel-width range or a measured performance advantage.

Editorial update: Earlier versions included unverified production specifications, a predicted 30,000–45,000-mile life and unsupported performance comparisons. This revision removes those assertions and separates nominal size calculations from released specifications and vehicle fitment.
What 305/35ZR20 tells you
In this designation, 305 is the nominal section-width designation in millimeters, 35 is the aspect ratio, and 20 is the wheel’s nominal bead-seat diameter in inches. The “R” indicates radial construction. Read the complete service description and current technical information for the speed and load requirements; “ZR” alone is not the complete service description.

These calculations use the nominal size designation and the exact conversion of 25.4 millimeters per inch. They do not prove that a tire has 305 millimeters of tread contact, and they do not guarantee clearance or a particular speedometer difference on an unspecified vehicle.
Specifications to obtain for the exact current product
Before ordering or mounting, obtain the complete service description, applicable load information, approved wheel-width range, measured dimensions where needed, and use restrictions for the current VT101 product. Confirm any claimed UTQG grade or other qualification from the released record and actual current tire information.
This revision does not repeat the old article’s numeric tread-depth, UTQG or wheel-width claims as verified production specifications. A prior blog table is not a substitute for an approved product record. A measurement on a development sample or one laboratory test rim also does not establish the full production specification.

A widebody description is not fitment approval
A wider body or fender does not settle wheel offset, inner suspension clearance, brake clearance, load requirements or the effect of steering and suspension movement. A tire size used on one factory configuration does not approve it for every vehicle that shares a model name.
Identify the vehicle’s exact year, trim, drivetrain and relevant packages. Record the actual wheel width, offset and load rating, together with any suspension or body modifications. Have a qualified installer evaluate the complete combination using current tire, wheel and vehicle information.
Do not assume a particular wheel width is approved because the tire appears to sit attractively on it in a photograph. Likewise, similar nominal diameter does not create a universal percentage allowance for an AWD system or guarantee that recalibration is unnecessary.
Read all-season as a category, then check intended use
The catalog’s all-season description is not an instrumented wet-braking result or a severe-snow qualification. It also does not establish that a tire is suitable for every temperature or driving activity.
Use the seasonal tire guide to identify the separate questions about summer, all-season and winter use. Confirm the exact product’s current markings and instructions rather than inferring them from tread appearance.
A tread photo can document visible features. It cannot establish a silica formula, an unreported internal construction, noise performance or stopping distance. Those claims need their own appropriate evidence.
Performance, road life and ownership terms
This page does not claim a percentage of another tire’s performance, a comparative braking advantage or a particular expected mileage. Road life depends on actual service and condition. A UTQG grade should not be converted into a guaranteed mileage, and a laboratory endurance result should not be used as a street-life prediction. Keep maintenance and tread records and follow the vehicle and tire instructions.
