245/45ZR20 front and 275/40ZR20 rear describe a staggered tire-size pair. They do not, by themselves, establish an approved replacement set for every 2010–2015 Camaro SS, and they should not be extended to a different Camaro generation or performance package without checking its requirements.

Identify the Camaro and its wheel package
Record the model year, trim, factory packages and original front/rear requirements. Identify the wheels currently fitted and any changes to brakes, suspension, spacers or bodywork. Keep an SS, a car with a 1LE package and a ZL1 as distinct configurations until the applicable records establish their requirements.
Find the owner’s manual for the exact year through Chevrolet’s manual library. Use the car’s tire label and relevant factory documentation alongside it. A product title naming a range of years is not a substitute for the actual vehicle specification.
The 2015 Camaro manual, printed pages 10-58 and 10-73–74, describes several original summer-tire size combinations and the replacement requirements. It recommends the appropriate TPC specification and states the size, load-range, speed and construction requirements for a non-TPC replacement. Its mention of this size pair does not make every available tire in those sizes an approved substitute.
When the car has been modified, ask the installer to identify the source supporting the proposed combination. The starting record should explain what is original, what changed and what remains to be checked.
What the two size codes tell you
The rear code is nominally wider, but its lower aspect ratio keeps calculated sidewall height close to the front code in this example.

These are original nominal calculations, not measured specifications or a factory-approval table. Sidewall height equals width × aspect ratio ÷ 100. For a 20-inch wheel, add twice that height to 508 mm to obtain the nominal diameter.
The 0.5 mm nominal diameter difference does not complete the fitment decision. Actual tire dimensions, approved wheel widths, service descriptions and the vehicle’s requirements still matter. Our size-code guide explains the remaining markings.
Check the exact tire, not just its size family
NHTSA’s replacement guidance emphasizes choosing the proper tire for the vehicle and driving conditions. For each candidate, collect the complete service description, intended use and applicable technical instructions. Obtain its approved rim-width range rather than guessing from another tire with the same nominal width.
The tire’s load and speed capability, the wheel’s suitability and the vehicle application need to agree. A matching wheel diameter does not settle brake clearance, wheel hardware or space through steering and suspension movement.

Plan ownership around the staggered configuration

Request an installed quote for the actual front/rear quantities and any required monitoring-system service. Keep written coverage terms and installation instructions with it. Do not treat a tire-only price or a general availability statement as a complete order.
